On the afternoon of February 25, 2025, the Ethiopian Embassy in South Korea hosted the "Ethiopia Investment Seminar," where SHINTS Co., Ltd.'s newly appointed CEO, Cha Jong-in, delivered a presentation on the company's local manufacturing operations. As a leading Korean enterprise in Ethiopia, SHINTS showcased the remarkable growth of its factory and outlined future expansion plans.
During the presentation, CEO Cha highlighted the evolution of the ETP factory, which was established in 2014 and has since expanded into a large-scale production facility with 6,500 employees. He further announced plans to increase the workforce to 30,000, emphasizing Ethiopia's growing significance in the global textile and apparel industry alongside Bangladesh.
In his opening remarks, Ethiopian Ambassador to South Korea, Dessie Dalkie Dukamo, expressed strong expectations for SHINTS' continued growth, stating, "Ethiopia is one of the fastest-growing countries in the world and the second-most populous nation in Africa, offering immense economic potential."
The investment seminar served as a crucial opportunity for Korean businesses to explore Ethiopia’s sustained economic growth and investment prospects. SHINTS reaffirmed its commitment to further expansion and collaboration within the Ethiopian market.
