On June 5, Cha Min-ho, Chairman of Shin Textile Solutions Co., Ltd. a specialized OEM manufacturer of high-performance apparel, attended the Korea-Africa Business Summit held in Seoul. At the summit, he presented the company’s achievements in Ethiopia and outlined their investment strategies for Africa.

Since 2014, SHINTS has been operating a garment factory in the Bole-Lemi Industrial Park in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The factory, employing 6,000 workers, produces high-quality apparel products for global export. ShinTS plans to hire an additional 1,000 to 2,000 employees annually, aiming to reach a total of 15,000 employees in the Bole-Lemi Industrial Park. Furthermore, the company intends to establish another factory of similar scale in a different region, with a short-term goal of operating a total of 30,000 employees across its Ethiopian facilities.

Chairman Cha explained the rationale behind their expansion into Ethiopia, highlighting the continent's vast land area, abundant resources, and rapid population growth. He underscored Africa’s rich renewable energy resources, particularly hydro, wind, solar, and geothermal energy, stating that these resources represent strong incentives for investment in Africa.

Emphasizing the mutual cooperation between Korea and Africa, he stated, "For Korea to succeed, it must view Africa not just as a trade market or production hub, but as a partner in sharing talents and technologies to pioneer the future."

Concluding his presentation, Chairman Cha expressed a strong commitment to the company’s endeavors in Africa, saying, "We believe we can find a bright future in Africa and are committed to doing our best for the future of SHINTS in this region."
